Ayush Maheshwari is the founder and CEO of ReportSense, the AI-powered lab report explainer built for India. He is a data engineer with over five years of experience building secure, large-scale data systems, and he started ReportSense to make lab reports understandable for everyone without compromising the privacy of their health data.
How ReportSense was born
A while back, I got my own blood test report and honestly, I couldn't make sense of it. Just rows of numbers, short forms, and ranges. No clue what was good, what was bad, or what I was even supposed to do about it. So I did what we all do. I googled it. Big mistake. Ten minutes later I had myself convinced something was seriously wrong.
My next thought was simple: just paste it into ChatGPT and ask. But then I stopped. This was my health data, the really personal stuff. Did I actually want to hand all of that to some random AI tool? It just didn't feel right.
And that's when it hit me. This isn't just my problem. So many of us get a report, feel completely lost, and have nowhere safe to turn.
So I built the thing I wish existed. ReportSense reads your report and explains every value in simple, everyday words. It tells you what actually needs a closer look and what's totally fine. And your data stays private and yours, always. Because everyone deserves to understand their own health without freaking out, and without handing their personal stuff to someone they don't trust.
And remember how I couldn't get myself to paste my report into ChatGPT? ReportSense never puts you in that spot, and this is not just a promise on a page. It is built into the product. Every report passes through a dedicated step whose only job is to scrub out your personal details, your name, phone number, email, date of birth, ID numbers, address, even your doctor's name, before anything ever reaches the AI. The AI only sees the medical values, never who they belong to.
What drives me
I am the kind of engineer who cannot leave a problem half-solved, which is exactly how ReportSense started: something I ran into personally and could not stop thinking about until I had built the answer. What I love most is taking something messy and complicated and making it genuinely clear and useful, the same instinct I have brought to data for years. And I care about building things the right way, privacy-first and made for real people, not just shipped fast.
Why you can trust ReportSense with your data
Handling data responsibly is not a side concern for me. It is my profession. I have spent over five years as a data engineer building and securing large-scale data pipelines with tools like Snowflake, dbt, SQL, and Python, and I hold a B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering. The same discipline that protects business-critical data, access control, data minimisation, and careful handling, is exactly what goes into how ReportSense treats your reports.
ReportSense is built in compliance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023. You own your data, you can delete it at any time, and we will never sell your health data to third parties, insurers, or advertisers. You can see my full professional background on LinkedIn.
